1- AI Studio for Chat
- Available on Android and iPhone
After Meta AI, now WhatsApp has launched AI Studio, enabling people to talk with AI-driven chat personas, such as cultural figures and famous characters.
Users can access it through the Meta AI chat window and provides an immersive means of chatting, making messaging more interactive and fun.
2- Colorful Chat Theme
- Available on Android and iPhone
WhatsApp’s colorful chat themes are finally out of Beta and available for everyone. This lets you apply default, or individual colorful themes to the chat screen, finally bringing some colors to the app.
From the 20 color set, you can choose any of your choice and also you can choose from 30 new and amazing wallpapers that are also new to WhatsApp
This new feature unlocks new ways to customize your WhatsApp experience.
3- Custom Stickers & Easy Sharing
- Available on Android and iPhone
You can now create personalized stickers from their gallery’s photos. WhatsApp automatically detects and extracts subjects from images to turn them into stickers. Sticker packs can be shared via links, making customization even more fun.
4- Clear Chat Notifications
- Available on iPhone
On the iPhone, the WhatsApp icon shows an unread count badge on the home screen, which can be quite irritating. To tackle this issue, the app has rolled out a new feature that clears the unread badge from the icon whenever you launch the app.
To activate it, head to Settings > Notifications and turn on the Clear badge toggle. This feature is also being worked on for the Android version, but it’s currently in beta.
5- Unread Chat Counter in Filters
- Available on iPhone
WhatsApp added chat filters back in May of last year, and they are now enhancing this feature. You can now see the count of unread messages in your specific filters.
Unread group chats will show up in the groups tab, and the same applies to favorites and other custom filters. This feature is currently available on iPhone and is expected to arrive on Android soon.
6- Manage Playback Speed for Videos
- Available on Android and iPhone
Another new and useful feature that WhatsApp introduced for its users is Manage Playback Speed. This feature allows you to change the playback speed of videos.
The button is available next to the video seek bar at the bottom right on Android and at the top right side on iPhone. This lets you switch playback speed from 1x to 1.5x and 2x.
7- Meta AI Widget for Home Screen

WhatsApp now has a feature that can set Meta AI widget on homescreen. Now if you want a quick interaction with an AI chatbot, you can use this widget that lets you jump into the Meta AI chat window.
8- Message Editing Feature
- Available on Android and iPhone
I personally like this new feature that allows users to edit their sent messages on WhatsApp. It allows users to fix typos or update outdated information without sending follow-up messages.
Note: Though this feature was launched before February 2025 but it is worth mentioning it here.
9- Camera Effects
- Available on Android and iPhone
Last year WhatsApp launched the effects for video calls and people loved it. Now WhatsApp has introduced the effects for photos and videos you send.
Now, when users take and send a video or photo in chats, they can choose from the same 30 backgrounds, filters and effects to transform their shots.
10- Quick reactions
- Available on Android and iPhone
With this new feature, you can now double tap the message to give a quick reaction and can quickly scroll through your most used reactions.
