They should be positioned in a location close enough to the router to get a good signal, but far enough out to cover areas with little or no coverage for best results. Whereas Mesh Networks are a collection of nodes that work together to provide excellent WiFi coverage throughout your house or office. One node will be connected directly to the modem for an internet connection, while the others will be distributed across your home. To disseminate the WiFi signal to the required places, the primary node will wirelessly share its internet connection with the other nodes.
2. The Outdoor Networks:
These are used to increase your outdoor Wi-Fi connection, take your current internet connection and relay it outdoors.
3. Point to Point Networks:
The point-to-point networks act as a link between two buildings, allowing you to connect to the internet. This can sometimes be accomplish purchasing an additional internet service or a WiFi hotspot, but this might be costly. Point to point networks can help you save money in the long term while providing reliable internet in two locations.
How Does Long-Range Wi-Fi work?
We have this one thing established already that when you’re close to a connectivity device, it sends out the strongest signal. The signal becomes weaker as you travel further away. However, pugging the router and the adapter will not just start boosting out the signals, instead, it will require some configurations. Once those configurations are Complete; the antenna then pulls the signal from the internet source and the router broadcasts these signals for the multiple users at distances to enjoy.
The Long-Range Outdoor Networks
To boost their internet connectivity outside, several people employ range extenders and mesh networks. Those gadgets work well, but they must be within a specified range of the router and can only cover a limited radius. To increase the range, even more, outdoor WiFi Access Points (AP) can employed.
Outside, the AP can mounted on a pole, j-pole, tripod, or any other mast. The AP’s antennas should have a clear line of sight to the area that you want to cover. The AP must connected to your router to expand your internet connection. The wires are what allow the Wi-Fi signal to flow through building materials and obstructions; that would otherwise diminish or prevent it.
Once again, the Ethernet cables are what establish the connections from the AP to the router. The first cable is connecting to the back of the router and the Ethernet port. Whereas the second cable connects the PoE and AP ports on the adapter. When these connections are establishing successfully, the AP antennas broadcast signals out to larger distances.
