Trailer and Story Hints

Trailer:

PlayStation presented the event, and many key figures from the Death Stranding franchise were present. Hideo Kojima hosted the star-studded SXSW special panel, and Norman Reedus and Troy Baker also joined.

At the special showcase, the release date of the game was announced and a new 10-minute pre-order trailer was also played. The trailer revealed a fresh insight into the upcoming sequel, including the price details of the game.

Story Hint:

It includes a character named Neil, played by Luca Marinelli, who bears a striking resemblance to Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series, wearing a bandana similar to Snake’s iconic attire.

The trailer continues the Metal Gear vibes with the Magellan Man, a huge tar-like creature fused with the DHV Magellan that looks a bit like Metal Gear Rex (a 15″ statue of the Magellan Man is included in the Collector’s Edition).

The Magellan Man appears to be operated like a Pacific Rim-style mech, and faces off against enormous and very creepy tar monsters.

Development and Production

Kojima Productions has assembled a talented team of developers, designers, and artists to work on Death Stranding 2. The game’s development is being led by Hideo Kojima, the legendary game designer and director behind the Metal Gear Solid series and Death Stranding.

Conclusion

Death Stranding 2 release set for June 26, 2025, fans of the game and newcomers alike have much to look forward to.  This new game promises to be a deeply immersive and thought-provoking experience, building upon the unique blend of exploration, storytelling, and social connection that defined its predecessor.
